Celebrated Vocal Expression Coach PhD., and Resident Artistic Director.
From engaging fiction and developmental non-fiction to professional performance direction, Gwen serves up a delightful assortment of characters and stories with purpose, both on and off the page.
About Me
First and foremost, I am a writer of cozy mysteries and contemporary romance novels. For my cozy mystery series I write under the pseudonym of Cunigunda Valentine. Check out my eight-book Millicent Winthrop series of novels for great fun and intrigue. I write contemporary fiction under my own name, Gwen Overland, as evidenced by my two award-winning series: The Salmon Run Novels and the Hot in Hawaii Novels.
I’ve also written a non-fiction book, which accompanies my Expressive Voice Dynamics business, the title of which is: Reveal Your Expressive Voice: 7 Steps for Authentic Communication. My background as a theatre professional, voice teacher, and clinical psychologist makes me a valuable vocal coach for those people experiencing trauma-related vocal expression issues.
Last but not least is my day-job as Resident Artistic Director for Camelot Theatre located in southern Oregon. My experience as a union actress, as well as a stage director of musicals, comedies and dramas, and my educational background in Music Performance and Theatre Arts allows me to work with a team of valuable individuals to present the very best theatre possible to our audiences.
This new year, 2024, promises to bring to you the reader two new series, one cozy mystery series set on coastal Oregon, and one contemporary romance series set in a lake community in western Montana. Once again, thank you for your support and interest in me and my creative endeavors, whether they be as one of my valued readers, clients in my expressive voice dynamics private practice, or theatre attendees.
